How snipecv writes its guides

Every role page and blog post on snipecv carries the byline "the snipecv team". This page is what that byline points to: who is behind it, how the pages are made, and what to do if something is wrong.

Who writes this
The guides are written and reviewed by the people who build snipecv. There is no roster of outside career coaches and no guest authors. Rather than invent a name, the pages say what is true: they come from the team that builds the tool, and that team is accountable for every claim on them through the contact above.
How the role pages are made
The role pages are built on public labor data, not on invented job titles.
- Occupations follow the U.S. Department of Labor's O*NET-SOC classification. Each role page hangs off one federal occupation code, which fixes the salary source, the occupation group, and the icon it carries. Several searched titles can share one code; software developer titles do.
- Salary figures come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) release named on each page, currently May 2025, accessed through O*NET OnLine. Where BLS has no direct category for a title, the page names the closest one and says so.
- Sample CVs are composites written for the page. The people, employers, and numbers in them are illustrative. They are not real applicants and were not taken from user data.
- The tailoring changes shown on each page are produced by the snipecv product from the sample CV and an example posting, so the page shows what the tool does rather than describing it.
- Drafting is AI-assisted. Every page is reviewed by a person before it publishes, and the salary, occupation, and keyword sections are checked against their sources.
Comparison posts
Some blog posts compare snipecv with other CV tools. Read them knowing that snipecv is a competing product. To keep those posts useful anyway, each one follows the same rules:
- The disclosure above appears on the post itself.
- Every claim about another product comes from using it first-hand, with our own screenshots.
- Prices carry the date they were checked and are re-verified quarterly.
- Each post names something the other product does better.
- Other companies' names and marks belong to them, and appear only to identify their products.
Updates and corrections
- Salary data is refreshed after each annual OEWS release. The year in a page title reflects the review date, and a page is not re-dated without its content being reviewed.
- Role pages are revisited when the occupation data, the hiring market for that role, or the product changes materially.
- If you find an error, an outdated figure, or a claim about another product that is no longer accurate, write to legal@snipecv.com with the page URL. Corrections are made on the page and the update date is changed.
What this page is not
It is not a promise that any CV will get an interview. Callback and match figures cited on the site come from the independent research linked next to them, not from snipecv's own results.
